PRU

PRU is Phuket's only Michelin-starred restaurant, and it also holds a Michelin Green Star for sustainable gastronomy. Both were retained in the 2026 guide. Executive chef and co-owner Jimmy Ophorst cooks almost entirely with Thai produce, much of it from the restaurant's own farm in Pa Khlok.

The restaurant sits at Trisara ★ 4.8 on the northwest coast, with an open kitchen and views over the Andaman Sea. PRU turned ten in 2026 and reopened on 1 October after a renovation, with a new tasting menu.

The PRU Experience dinner costs ฿7,500++ (about USD 223 before tax and service), and lunch is ฿4,000++ (about USD 119). Wine pairings start at ฿6,500++ at dinner, so allow around ฿14,000++ per person with wine. Dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday and lunch on Friday and Saturday; it is closed Sunday and Monday. Book well ahead for December to March.

Dear Friends, I did not plan on a fine dining experience in Phuket. Who does. I had planned on enjoying some pad Thai and some lobster. I am not quite sure what led me to PRU. But for some reason it started to be a good idea. I have always been curious about fine dining but it can be intimidating and feel inaccessible to those of us who are used to more conventional restaurant experiences. I was also a solo traveller which makes you a bit nervous without the comfort of a wing person. Jennifer who is the client experience manager expressed in her profile that she wants their guest to feel welcome in their kitchen. And I think she and the rest of the team have achieved that. From my arrival to departure, Alberto, Jimmy, Florian , Jennifer and the rest of the team made me feel welcome and comfortable. In Australia, we would say they past the BBQ test and you would have them over to your place for a BBQ. Little things matter. PRU gets the little things right and the food is amazing. I feel fortunate that I had the experience I had tonight. It was unexpected but often the best things are. The food is obviously also remarkable and I recommend sitting at the counter to watch how it happens and to see a high performing team working together. Thank you. Daniel

Everything about this experience was amazing! Michelin stars rate the food only and, yes, the food was great! But for me, the service team and the layout made the night. First, the layout with the bar overlooking the kitchen couldn't have been better. I've eaten solo in most of the top Michelin restaurants in Thailand and nothing compares to this layout. Second and best was the staff starting with a greeting by the head chef himself, Jimmy. Each chef was smiling/happy though very professional. Unlike Le Du or Sorn, they respected the customer. They also respected Thailand in their dishes. No one reads this far so note to self, guest experience manage Jennifer was stunning. This restaurant slid into my top 3 in Thailand. Definitely going back.

Excellent experience at PRU. The team paid attention to every detail throughout the meal and made us feel very well looked after. The food was outstanding, with every dish beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Phuket.

Visited in Mar 2026 PRU had been on my list of restaurants to visit for a long time, and I finally checked this establishment off my list during my recent trip to Phuket. Being the only Michelin Star restaurant on the island of Phuket, I definitely went in with a lot of expectations, and I have to say that it didn’t disappoint. As you enter, you are first taken to their beautiful lounge downstairs where the amuse bouche courses are served. The lounge is also the place where you come back to after the meal for the petit fours. You have 2 tasting menus to choose from - a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian 8 course meal. The amuse bouche bites and the petit fours are on top of the 8 courses. We went with the non-vegetarian tasting menu. The menu mostly comprised locally sourced seafood and veggies paired with some excellent fermentation-based homemade sauces. Among the initial courses, the scallop with orange sauce was my favourite. The main course was a meat course (duck) and I absolutely loved it too. The desserts were also good. All in all, in my opinion, every course of the dining experience reflected the creativity and excellence of the chef & his team. Delightful flavours, beautiful plating and most importantly an excellent mix of ingredients & produce across the various courses. We did not have any drinks but the restaurant has wine pairing and non-alcoholic pairing options to choose from. Service was excellent. From the moment you step into the premises, to the moment you step out, you are well taken care of by the gracious and courteous staff of the establishment. Overall, a truly amazing restaurant which absolutely deserves its Michelin star. A 100% recommendation for fine-dining lovers visiting Phuket.

Decided to try this Michelin starred restaurant during our holiday. We got the lunch booking 2 days from day of booking . It’s quite a drive to the location which is perched on a hill top . We were greeted at the stairs to restaurant and brought the the lounge and it was explained that our experienced starts at the lounge . Amuse Bouche sampling was served and we were asked if we wanted alcohol which we decline as we drove there . After that we were brought on a tour around the facility with walls filled with painting of local painters and the herb garden was pointed to us . We started on our set lunch menu soon after and sometimes ingredients of the dish was shown to us before the dish was served . The durian mousse was interesting . It is a good experience for those who are relatively unfamiliar with Thai ingredients. The combination of factors were interesting . Lobster was raw . Fish was fresh but the sauce made from smoked fish needs getting use to . Jackfruit dessert was ok . After lunch we were ushered back to the lounge for petit fours some of which were cut in half’s . We were pretty much left alone then . Paid the bill and lef
