Suay
Suay means "beautiful" in Thai, and chef Tammasak "Noi" Chootong's restaurant in Cherngtalay has been in the Michelin Guide every year since 2019. It is a relaxed, garden-set room in Baan Wana Park, a few minutes from Laguna and Bang Tao Beach, and it is one of the best-value modern Thai restaurants on the island.
The menu reworks Thai classics with Western technique. Foie gras wrapped in betel leaf is the signature, alongside crab cakes, a tuna laab, lemongrass lamb chops and a crab curry served with avocado mousse and salmon caviar. There is no tasting menu; you order à la carte and share.
Starters run from ฿189 to ฿790 and mains from about ฿650 to ฿1,190 (about USD 19-35), so ฿800-1,500 per person covers most meals. It is open daily from 4pm to 11pm, with live music on Monday and Thursday evenings. The original Phuket Town branch has closed; Cherngtalay is now the only Suay restaurant.

Visited Suay after hearing it’s a favorite of Roger Federer, and it absolutely did not disappoint! I booked a table for indoor dining at 5:00 PM. Since it was early for dinner, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. The staff were incredibly attentive, proactive, and friendly, making us feel very well taken care of. The food was both beautiful and delicious—you can tell great care went into the presentation and flavor of every dish. The ambiance and overall environment were also fantastic. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit!
We decided to give this place a try after hearing such raves about it. Unfortunately, we were pretty underwhelmed, perhaps because of the intense anticipation leading up to it. And don't forget, prices are on the higher side, which is something to be expected considering it's top-notch Thai fine dining that has received accolades including recognition by the Michelin guide. Despite the fact that we were looking forward to eating there, we unfortunately ended up quite disappointed with the overall food quality. The taste and overall flavor just didn't quite match up to the prices, the overall reputation, and all the hype surrounding the place. In fact, most of the dishes turned out to be disappointing and underwhelming. We sincerely hope that things can be improved in this area.
We had a birthday celebration here, and the Suay team prepared a surprise birthday dessert, which we truly appreciated. We ordered the Premium set for 2 persons, and it was definitely worth the visit. The food and service were both very good, and every dish in the set menu was amazing. I was especially impressed by the foie gras in betel leaf wrap and the tuna carpaccio with wasabi ice cream. The grilled lamb chop was a bit too salty for my personal taste.
1. Insane vibes. very classy and romantic. 2. Food was on point - betel leaf dish must order. Salmon was perfectly done and lamb very flavourful! 3. Live music band is out of this world. Jazzy and lovely!
The worst overprice garbage I put in my mouth in a long while. The batter used for the soft shell crab so bad. The food looks like it came out of the cruise ship and the monk fish has a plastic(ish) taste to it. Service staff wasn’t even professional. This whole restaurant is a joke

Baan Rim Pa
Baan Rim Pa has served Royal Thai cuisine to Patong visitors for more than 30 years. It moved from its original cliff at the end of Patong Beach to a new clifftop site around the headland at Kalim in about 2015, and the setting is still the reason most people book: candlelit terraces, a teak-house dining room and a view back across Patong Bay.

Black Ginger
Black Ginger is the most theatrical arrival in Phuket dining. At The Slate on Nai Yang Beach, near the airport, a raft carries you across a lagoon to a traditional Thai house on the far side. Chef Anongrat "Piak" Meklai cooks Southern Thai recipes, and the cooking is good enough to justify the entrance.

Blue Elephant Phuket
Blue Elephant Phuket occupies one of the grandest buildings in the old town: a restored Sino-Portuguese mansion built by the tin baron Phra Phitak Chinpracha, on Krabi Road. The high-ceilinged yellow dining rooms make it the most formal restaurant in Phuket Town.
