Nantipa

On the beach at Santa Teresa, the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, Nantipa offers a more traditional luxury beach hotel within a region better known for wellness. Thatched-roof bungalows and tented suites sit directly on the sand, and the mood is bohemian-luxe, barefoot, unhurried, and quietly polished.

The surf break at Santa Teresa is one of the country's best, and the hotel arranges lessons and board hire for guests of every level. The beachfront restaurant makes the most of the morning catch, and sunset here is the daily event everything else arranges itself around.

Expect nightly rates from around USD 500 in high season. Choose Nantipa for the Nicoya Peninsula's laid-back energy paired with real creature comforts and direct beach access.

Anyone who leaves less than a 5 star review is crazy, this place is amazing! We went in early June, and there wasn't much rain. The hotel staff are so helpful and friendly. They helped organize all outings we wanted. The beach vibes were immaculate. They even provide bug spray, because yes there are bugs, but you're in the jungle, so that should be expected. The food and drinks at Manzu was also very good, but if you want to explore a bit the town has lots of great places that are easily walkable. I'm so impressed with hotel Nantipa and absolutely would make the journey back! Zero complaints from me! 10/10 absolutely recommend!

Me and my friend stayed here for 7 days and had the most AMAZING time. Nantipa is relaxing, beautiful, and the team is great. We had no issues at all, everything went smooth and the food was fantastic as well! Nantipa also provides fun activities you can do such as Tortuga island tour, zip lining, spa, and more so that your trip to Costa Rica can be extra fun! I highly recommend booking with Nantipa whether it’s for girls trip, family trip, or anything else.

I had a very disappointing experience at Nantipa due to their confusing and inconsistent visitor/guest policies. The rules were not clearly explained at check-in, and nowhere in the paperwork did it clearly state that you cannot have different visitors come to your room. The only thing mentioned was room capacity, which is not the same as saying no visitors are allowed. What made it worse was the night staff. They were rude, confusing, and made the situation unnecessarily uncomfortable. Instead of calmly explaining the policy, they acted accusatory and unprofessional. To make matters worse, different staff members gave different answers, and it was clear the team is not on the same page. This created stress during what should have been a relaxing stay. For the price and reputation, this level of communication and hospitality is unacceptable. I would not stay here again. I suggest if your social at all do not stay here because even if you just bring back one person and the other person is no longer staying in your room, they will be mean about it Also, I’ve never heard of a hotel where you can’t bring someone too, especially if it’s just for a night not even using the facilities They also claimed it was an insurance policy, which also doesn’t make sense because I’ve literally seen other people that are not staying at the hotel come into the hotel and use the actual facilities like the pool In addition, I never even signed the document that explains this so I don’t know how that’s even enforceable again. It only says about capacity not that you can’t change the people out at all. There’s also no manager at staff on night so that was very difficult because the girl at the front desk explained it a lot different than the manager did in the morning and they had conflicting reasons why so that doesn’t make sense

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Nantipa. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. The service throughout the entire stay was outstanding. The location is absolutely perfect, right on the beach in Santa Teresa, with beautiful ocean views and incredible sunsets. The atmosphere at the hotel is peaceful, romantic, and very relaxing. It feels private and quiet, which made it the perfect place to unwind. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, spacious, and designed in a way that blends luxury with the natural surroundings. Everything felt very well maintained and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Every meal we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The breakfast was especially great and the beachfront dining experience makes it even better. We also felt very safe the entire time. The property is well maintained and the staff is always around if you need anything. There is plenty of parking, which is very convenient if you have a car. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The combination of the amazing staff, perfect location, great food, and relaxing atmosphere made it a truly memorable stay. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Teresa.

We had a fabulous stay on our honeymoon this January. Amenities: Our room was adjacent to the pool, which gave a relaxing, natural feel when we didn’t feel like being at the beach or exploring town. We enjoyed a professional couples massage on site arranged by the concierge. The restaurant had thoughtfully made local cocktails and an array of menu items throughout the day (free breakfast menu). The sunset was a wonderful touch and private areas could be reserved in advance. Santa Teresa town: It was bustling yet quaint without a big commercial feel. We spent the day on the beach or exploring local shops and restaurants. Overall it was paradise. Thanks Nantipa!
