Four Seasons Papagayo
The Four Seasons commands a dramatic hilltop on the western flank of Peninsula Papagayo, looking down on two beaches, Virador and Blanca, with the Gulf of Papagayo beyond. The architecture is bold: soaring palm-thatched rooflines drawn from traditional rancho structures, with the resort cascading down the hillside toward the water. Rooms and suites are spacious and impeccably finished, many with private plunge pools and uninterrupted ocean views.
The Arnold Palmer golf course is the finest in Central America, winding through ravines to elevated tees with views across the gulf. Four restaurants range from refined Latin American cooking to beachfront ceviche, and the service is exactly what the brand promises: polished, professional, and warmly attentive.
Nightly rates begin around USD 1,200 in high season, with premium suites and villas climbing well above USD 3,000. This is resort-style luxury at its most assured, and the natural choice for travellers who want golf, spa, and guaranteed Guanacaste sunshine.
Guest Reviews
Our stay at Four Seasons Costa Rica was amazing from start to finish. What stood out most was the exceptional service. Many of the staff remembered us by our first names and even recalled what we had ordered previously, which made the experience feel incredibly personal and welcoming. The atmosphere throughout the resort is wonderful. Costa Rica can be very hot, but the resort does an excellent job providing air-conditioned spaces wherever possible. Our room was fully air-conditioned and extremely comfortable, with no issues at all during our stay. The accommodations are beautiful, and the ocean views are absolutely stunning. The wildlife around the property adds to the unique experience, and the sense of luxury is noticeable in every detail. There are plenty of activities included with your stay, which makes it easy to stay entertained without additional costs. For those looking for even more adventure, there are also premium activities available. Overall, this is an outstanding destination and a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a memorable vacation in Costa Rica.
What an experience staying 5 days at this breathtaking hotel! It truly felt like a dream. Everything was perfection — the food, the rooms, the beautifully maintained grounds, and the incredible access to two beaches: one perfect for sunsets and the other for sunrises. A must-do is the Trail of The Giants which has spectacular views and of course the Yoga in the Wellness Shala looking over the ocean. It actually started raining in the middle of our yoga session, and it created the most magical, peaceful atmosphere - absolutely unforgettable. We tried all the restaurants and every meal was excellent. The breakfast buffet was out of this world. And the staff… just amazing. So warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Don’t forget the complimentary Rum & Chocolate tasting. We’re so grateful to have had the chance to stay here. Would come back in a heartbeat! 💗

We had the most amazing time here due to the beautiful views and the stunning hotel. The most amazing staff ever, who could not have been kinder, more helpful and professional, always going the extra mile for everyone. Thank you to Rafaela at the restaurant, to Jason for driving us and being so wonderful, David at the ocean for SUP, Jorge our waiter and ALL the staff who makes this resort the gem that it is. Blessings to you all.

Andaz Papagayo
Hyatt's Andaz brand brings a younger, more design-forward sensibility to Peninsula Papagayo. The property sits lower on the landform than its Four Seasons neighbour, with direct access to Nacascolo beach and a markedly more informal atmosphere. Concrete, wood, and local stone combine in a contemporary tropical aesthetic, and the curated art collection through the public spaces gives it a gallery-like character.

Botanika Osa Peninsula
A newer arrival to the Osa's lodge scene, Botanika brings a contemporary design sensibility to the rainforest-lodge format. Open-plan suites with freestanding bathtubs, rainfall showers, and expansive decks face directly into primary forest, and the infinity pool overlooks the Golfo Dulce.

Hotel Si Como No
This pioneering eco-resort has long set the standard for sustainable luxury in Manuel Antonio. Terraced into the hillside with views through the canopy to the ocean, Si Como No was the first hotel in Costa Rica to earn five leaves under the national sustainability certification, and its green credentials are genuine rather than decorative.
