Le Sirenuse
The undisputed icon of Amalfi Coast hospitality. Le Sirenuse has occupied a converted eighteenth-century palazzo in the heart of Positano since 1951, and it remains, by a comfortable margin, the most desirable address on the coast. The rooms are hung with the Sersale family's personal art collection (Picasso ceramics, Warhol prints), and the sense of staying in a private home rather than a hotel persists despite the property's fame.
La Sponda, the hotel's restaurant, is one of the finest dining rooms on the coastline, and the pool terrace, with its red-and-white striped loungers, is the coast's most recognisable vantage point.
Doubles start from around EUR 800 in shoulder season, climbing considerably in July and August. Book months ahead.
Guest Reviews
I could have easily had a 5star-worthy stay in this hotel but I dont even think i'll EVER consider staying here in the future. Let me tell you why. About 2 years ago, My fiance and I were celebrating our engagement in the Amalfi Coast. We were strolling the streets of Positano when we came upon Le Sirenuse. Back then, we haven't heard of the hotel yet and we were already scouting for wedding venues, and so we thought maybe we could inquire inside and see if it'd be a good candidate. Here's where it all happened. We were approaching the entrance when we were stopped by 2 of their male staff and asked where we were headed. So i politely greeted them and asked if we were allowed to go inside and if they could kindly direct us towards somebody who could help with our enquiry. One of them shut me off, blocked our way and went, "No no. We dont hold weddings here" and turned towards his colleague right after saying that. My fiance and I didnt read much about that at the time UNTIL fast forward to today when we stumbled on a blog, listing this exact freaking hotel as one of the WEDDING VENUES in their 'Weddings in Italy' feature! If walk in guests arent allowed in the property, I would completely understand that but they could have at least told us to book an appointment or told us they have a restaurant inside where we could maybe, uhm, book a table to dine?! And maybe have a look around? But NO. They chose the entire opposite of what hospitality is. I dont even know what to feel about this 🤷🏻♀️
An Unforgettable Anniversary at a Mediterranean Paradise We had a truly fabulous stay at Le Sirenuse. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The location is unbeatable, offering the most stunning views in all of Positano. For our anniversary, we dined at both Aldo’s and La Sponda, and the food was fantastic at both. The hotel even arranged a wonderful surprise at our table—musicians played for us, and they presented a beautiful dessert wishing us a Happy Anniversary. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch. While it is certainly an investment, the experience is worth every penny. Whether it’s swimming with that iconic view or enjoying breakfast on the terrace, everything is a 10/10. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!
Our room and view was stunning. Le Sirenuse is as beautiful as Positano. Every staff member from front desk to concierge to restaurants to housekeeping to Spa seemed to love us and their jobs, always having a smile, always following up with any need or request. The food was perfect. The couples massage was the best we’ve ever had. The hotel’s boat ride to the new hotel property Le Sirenuse Mare Beach Club in Nurano was a vacation highlight. Thank you everyone at Le Sirenuse.
The service was outstanding. never over bearing but never lacking...they have the balance down perfect. And the staff was sincere and genuine. They love their jobs, love La Sirenuse, and really want to make your stay special.
I cannot overemphasize how incredible and luxurious this hotel is, a true gem in Positano. My husband and I came here for our second anniversary trip and it was well worth it to stay in the nicest hotel in the town. This is THE hotel, the one that offers that fantastic view of the colorful hillside homes that you see plastered on every website raving about the Amalfi coast. The staff here are incredible, friendly and attentive; the interior decor and furniture are detailed and remind me of the Titanic (as in being ornate and classy with a touch of baroque); and the restaurants serve such delicious and authentic local foods. We had an ocean view room and that included a private balcony overlooking the pool, which was an incredible view! Loved waking up and lounging on our private balcony while sipping on espresso. I want to give a shoutout to Antonio, the manager there- he was so friendly, helpful and provided us with such a nice selection of events and restaurants to experience. You truly are the best concierge! If John Steinbeck writes about how fabulous Le Sirenuse is, you know it’s a real treasure!

Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel
A thirteenth-century Capuchin convent turned luxury hotel, the Convento sits above Amalfi town with expansive views along the coast. The cloister, with its Arab-Norman arches and citrus garden, is magnificent, and the infinity pool overlooking the town and the sea is excellent.

Belmond Hotel Caruso
The infinity pool at Hotel Caruso, set in the gardens of an eleventh-century palazzo, appears to merge directly with the sea 300 metres below. It is, without exaggeration, one of the most photographed hotel pools in the world.

Casa Angelina
The coast's most design-forward hotel, Casa Angelina is a study in Mediterranean minimalism: all white surfaces, clean lines, and vast windows framing the sea. It is a striking counterpoint to the baroque opulence of properties like Palazzo Avino.
