Ayana Resort Bali

Ayana occupies a vast clifftop estate above Jimbaran Bay, with around 290 rooms spread across three connected properties: Ayana Resort, Ayana Segara, and the ultra-premium Ayana Villas. The scale is larger and less intimate than the neighbouring Four Seasons, but the facilities are staggering: a dozen restaurants, a private beach, an enormous spa, and Rock Bar, possibly the most famous bar in Bali, built on natural rocks at the base of the cliff.

The rooms vary considerably across the three properties. Ayana Villas is the standout, with private pool villas, butler service, and a level of seclusion the main resort cannot match. The standard rooms at Ayana Resort are comfortable but lack the distinction of the island's very best hotels.

Rates range from around USD 200 for a standard resort room to USD 1,000 and beyond for the private villas. Ayana works best as a self-contained holiday, with enough on-site to fill several days, and the Rock Bar sunset, queue and all, remains a genuine event.

We ended our Bali holiday with two nights at Ayana, wow what a resort! We were impressed by the size of this place, it is actually several different accommodation options under one name - so huge that a Tram takes you from one place to the other! We stayed at the main resort 'Ayana' which was by the sea and was nicely decorated in Balinese style. The staff was super helpful and respectful, you install an app to communicate any wishes or book your restaurant table (you get to choose from 24 different places!). Every restaurant had unique food that tasted so yummy. The Rockbar is out of this world, very crowded for sunset but a great experience. There are 19 pools so just choose where to chill. Rooms are huge and have everything you might need. The Kubu beach is very nice, reachable by tram as well and we saw some monkeys on our way there! We didn't even leave the resort to explore Jimbaran area as we thought it was a waste to spend time outside! Ayana is a great place to recharge your Vitamin Sea - wished we could have stayed longer as two nights were definitely not enough to explore everything there!! Thank you to the amazing staff for making our stay memorable ❤️

Right from the welcome with frangipani garlands right upto check in by the ever smiling Meri. She was so gracious and helped us with the app even did our booking for the rock bar. The other sweet receptionist was Iin. Very very helpful. Including the duty managers. The room was sea facing and we enjoyed the sunset. The restaurants were many but all had welcoming staff. Great service. Keep it up. Excellent. Will surely be back again.

I’m in Phuket right now and someone asked me where was the best hotel you have ever been so it just reminded me of my stay in Ayana in May 2025, because I’ve been to many 5* hotels and resorts before and after staying Ayana, but neither have ever been to the same level of Ayana. To be completely honest there were few issues with our room and couple of other things went wrong during our stay but nothing could change my mind about this resort. First off, I always wanted to visit Bally, but as someone who literally has a phobia of insects I, Ayana was a heaven for me. I don’t know how magically they keep this place completely insect free! And as someone with OCD I can assure you this place is the cleanest hotel you can find in Bally if not in the whole world, and I promise I’m not just saying this !😅 The rock bar is out of this world and to be honest the only issue with this resort is that it’s so complete that you don’t even want to leave it! Best restaurants, best food, multiple options of pools (some more clean and refurbished than others) but still some unrealistically beautiful one, the private beach is out of this world and an important point for me, the ice was filtered and drinkable 😅 But I have to give a 100/10 credit to the staff!! Honestly they all deserve a pay raise. I can’t even describe how extremely hostile they were! The customer service is unlike anything I have ever seen in any place, anything that went wrong they were there to fix it within minutes. They were kind, polite, extremely well trained, great English speakers and much more than just staffs, they made my 30th birthday so special that I will always cherish it! 100% recommend it! Would love to receive an invite back to this heaven some day 😍

I stayed in Villa 1007 for two nights, paying a nightly rate that was even higher than what I have paid for overwater villas in the Maldives. At the time of booking, my wife was hesitant about spending such a high amount on this villa. I persuaded her because this year marks our 30th wedding anniversary, and I wanted her to have a truly special and memorable experience. According to the information provided by the hotel, staying in a villa would grant us priority access to the best sunset viewing spots at Rock Bar, during our stay. Unfortunately, this promise were not honored. In addition to this, I was deeply disappointed by the attitude of the villa front desk staff. There was a clear lack of warmth or enthusiasm—only cold expressions and a sense of reluctance. When I asked for assistance in booking a spa treatment for the same day and making a reservation at Rock Bar for the following day, the seats arranged for us were far from the “premium” locations that had been promised. As a result, I spent a significant amount of time shielding my wife from the sun, which was certainly not the experience one would expect after paying such a premium price. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially given the expectations set by the hotel and the importance of this occasion to us. That said, I would like to sincerely commend DAVA Restaurant. The food there was the most satisfying and high-quality dining experience we had throughout our stay at the resort. Initially, I intended to give only two stars; the additional star is solely awarded for the excellence of DAVA Restaurant.

Our second stay at AYANA Bali was just as wonderful as our first. The villas are beautifully decorated and incredibly spacious. The bathroom feels wonderfully indulgent, and the private pool is the perfect place to spend an afternoon relaxing while looking out over the ocean. With over 20 restaurants to choose from, there is something for everyone. We especially loved KISIK Seafood and DAVA Steakhouse. The service and warmth of the staff are what make this resort truly special. During our stay, my husband became slightly unwell with a cold, and the care shown by the team was exceptional. One staff member at breakfast kindly offered to make him ginger and honey tea without us even asking, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We also had so much fun with the amazing staff at Sunset Bar — thanks to delightful and talented Eka, and his team. A shout out to Krisna and Adit also who also make great cocktails! The AYANA app is also a fantastic addition and made everything throughout the resort incredibly easy and convenient. AYANA has a very special atmosphere that keeps drawing us back, and we already cannot wait for our next visit.
