Riva Bianca

Riva Bianca is a free public beach in Lierna, on the eastern shore of the Lecco branch of Lake Como, in the Castello hamlet. It is a beach of smooth white pebbles with clear water and lawns behind it, and it is often named as the most photogenic free beach on the eastern shore.

There is a kiosk nearby, and some reviewers mention sunbeds for hire, but don't count on one. Parking on Via Roma and Via Castello is paid and fills early on summer weekends, so the train is the better option: Lierna station, on the Lecco to Sondrio line, is about a 10-minute walk away.

The water at Riva Bianca was approved for bathing by the regional health authority in 2026. Bring water shoes and your own shade.

Beautiful and clean! The clear water is so inviting you into water. It was still a bit too cold for a swim in May, but I'd love to come back in warmer weather.

Pretty view with crystal clean lake. We struggled with parking a car nearby, and ended up leaving a car at the train station.

It's one of the best beaches around Como. Spacious and quiet with an amazing view. You can pick a space on the grass or rent a sunbed for £10 a day. A few bars around to grab something to eat

Nice pebble beach with lots of space, chairs and sunbeds for rent, and a few cafes and food spots nearby. Gets pretty busy by mid-day, even on a weekday. Bring water shoes as the entire beach is pebbles and they can be tough to walk on barefoot.
