Lido di Bellagio

Lido di Bellagio is a paid beach club on Via Paolo Carcano, on the stretch of shore between Bellagio village and the gardens of Villa Melzi. It has a sand beach, a bistrot, a lounge bar and a private terrace, with views across the lake to Tremezzo and the western shore. Bellagio Boat Service can help if you arrive by private boat.

There is no entry-only ticket. In 2026 a Box (two sunbeds, a sunshade and two towels) cost EUR 50, and a Gazebo (two beds, a table, two lounge sofas, towels and water, best for two) cost EUR 200. Book online. The bistrot serves from 11am to 6pm, and the official site states that swimming is at your own risk, so don't count on a lifeguard.

The season runs from mid-May to September. On Tuesday and Saturday nights in summer the lido turns into a club, with DJ sets from 11:30pm, free entry and a minimum age of 20.

I visited this restaurant today with high expectations to try authentic Italian cuisine, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. We ordered pizza, but what we received looked nothing like what was shown in the pictures. Honestly, I wouldn’t even consider it pizza—it resembled everything except pizza. It felt like we paid for something that wasn’t delivered as promised. As for the pasta, it was undercooked, and the sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce with no real flavor or depth. On top of that, the portion sizes were very small and not satisfying at all. Overall, the food did not meet even basic expectations. I came excited to try Italian dishes, but I left with a very poor impression. On a positive note, I must say that the staff were polite and respectful, which I appreciated. However, based on the food quality and portion sizes, I would not recommend this place.

I’m currently at Lido di Bellagio Beach Club, and for the premium price charged for sunbeds, the experience falls far short of expectations. A few major issues: • Rigid setup with no shade flexibility: After paying top dollar for sunbeds, you are told by the staff that neither the beds nor the umbrellas can be moved under any circumstances to maintain alignment. Because the sun shifts throughout the day, you end up sitting in direct, unshaded sunlight for the majority of your time. • Horrible water quality & active construction: Access to the lake is via stairs, but right next to them, a digger/dredger was actively working in the water to build piers. The construction completely disturbed the water, turning what should have been a pristine swim into a murky, unpleasant mess. • Zero privacy or relaxation: The area of the beach club where we were placed sits right next to a busy dock for boat tours. As a result, streams of people are constantly walking past your sunbed all day long, making it feel less like an exclusive beach club and more like a high-traffic thoroughfare. Between the strict rules, poor water conditions due to construction, and constant foot traffic, it is simply not worth the high price tag. Very disappointing.

Nice place, good value, beautiful view, probably easier place to chill than in the centre of Bellagio, nice stop for drinks and some pizza, not much of a menu but what they had was reasonably priced. Don't assume you can swim, as this seems to be a paid system of loungers and hotel guests etc.

We were initially apprehensive about visiting the Lido, having read some mixed reviews after booking two loungers for the day. However, we were pleasantly surprised — we ended up having an amazing day. We arrived shortly after 10:30 AM and checked in at reception, where we were given towels and wristbands. The staff were warm, polite, and attentive throughout the day, including during the lunch service. We were shown to our loungers and given the choice of where to sit, which was a nice touch. The loungers were comfortable, each with a built-in head shade and an umbrella, providing plenty of sun protection. The food was good, and we appreciated being able to take drinks down to our loungers. It was a fantastic experience to relax on the sand and take a refreshing dip in the water to cool off. Overall, a great day out!

Stopped for a swim and a drink - told it was sold out despite being empty. Eventually they gave us 2 loungers in the baking sun. Water was dirty, not a great place to swim at low tide. Staff not very helpful Edit: owner correctly points out they are not able to control cleanliness of the lake. This is a good thing if the condition of their facilities is anything to go by
