Lo Scoglio
Lo Scoglio does not have a Michelin star, and the regulars rather hope it stays that way. This family-run restaurant sits directly on the water in the tiny bay of Marina del Cantone, and it has been serving some of the coast's finest seafood for three generations.
The zucchini pasta, the dish that put Nerano on the culinary map, is exceptional here, but it is the grilled fish and seafood platters that keep the boating crowd anchoring offshore. The setting, with waves practically lapping at your feet, is worth the trip alone.
Prices are gentler than the starred restaurants at EUR 60-90 per person, though you will still need to book ahead.
Guest Reviews
We had a stunning meal at Lo Scoglio on Saturday, set against the backdrop of an equally stunning sunset. The quality of food is well known but what’s less well known is the kindness of the staff - I accidentally left my handbag behind and didn’t realise until we were 20 minutes away at our hotel. When I woke up the next morning, Lo Scoglio had returned it to us. Thank you so much for a special dinner and for going the extra mile!
What was once a well-kept secret among Europeans has, unfortunately, been reduced to an American get-together thanks to Stanley Tucci’s show. What used to be a gathering of foodies has now become a place where, amidst the beautiful Italian coastline, you hear almost nothing but American English, Aperol Spritz is drunk with meals, and every dish is posted on Instagram. What a shame. Yet another place that has fallen victim to social media. Nevertheless: Food 4, Service 5, Location 5+
Can't comment on the rooms as I just went to the restaurant. The spaghetti alla nerano were excellent although at 29 euro, perhaps a tad expensive. Location is great and the staff is attentive. Splendid lunch in the sunshine by the sea mid november.
Review is only for the restaurant as I did not stay in the rooms. View is amazing of the sea. No bad seat at the restaurant as you will have a view anywhere. We got the sea urchin pasta and the seafood pasta. Both were good but the sea urchin pasta was the best of the two. Service was okay…not great but not bad.
Shows as a hotel so can’t review as you would for a restaurant. Over priced ! We went to see what the Pasta made with courgettes was all about however I must say we had better at other restaurants. Most expensive meal we had during our stay in Nerano !!

Chez Black
An institution on Positano's main beach since 1949, Chez Black is the kind of place where you will see A-listers in linen shirts eating pizza alongside Italian families on holiday. The wood-fired pizzas are excellent, the seafood pasta is reliable, and the people-watching is world-class.

Cumpa Cosimo
At the opposite end of the spectrum from Rossellinis, Cumpa Cosimo has been feeding visitors and locals in Ravello since 1929. The portions are enormous, the pasta is handmade daily, and the atmosphere is cheerfully chaotic.

Don Alfonso 1890
Don Alfonso holds one Michelin star and has kept its place among the south's finest restaurants for decades. The Iaccarino family's restaurant sits above the coast in the quiet hilltop village of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, away from the tourist crush below.
