Kasai
Praiano has emerged as the coast's most interesting dining destination for those willing to venture beyond Positano and Ravello. Kasai, an independent restaurant in Praiano, offers modern Japanese-Italian fusion that sounds improbable but works beautifully.
The tuna tataki with Amalfi lemon and the tempura courgette flowers are standouts, and the setting, a minimalist white terrace cantilevered above the sea, is spectacular.
Expect EUR 90-130 per person.

Dinner at Kasai was amazing! The flavors were rich and vibrant and the plating was spectacular. We had a table outdoors which is on the local street but this is the way on the amalfi coast when the restaurant is on the road. We had beautiful scenery of the coast and the water while we wined and dined. My son has the lamb ribs and that may have been the best flavored meat I have ever had. I had pasta in a fresh tomato sauce which was very good. My wife got the tiramisu and it was the best we had on the trip with Kasai adding a little twist by adding chocolate chunks and a few precisely placed berries. I tried their old fashioned for my dessert but it did not match the great flavors we get in Kansas City (but my expectations were really low as I hadn’t seen much bourbon when we were in Italy). My wife enjoyed a Hugo spritz as her new favorite drink in Italy. Kasai did it right. We were so glad we made the trek uphill from our place on the west side of Praiano. Also, pro tip, it gets cool in the evenings and potentially breezy so the ladies may want a shawl or jacket as the sun dips toward the horizon. Ciao!
We were here for 2 times and this is definitely one of our highlights dinner in Amalfi coast. The price is very reasonable given the food quality and the beautiful view. All the staff is very friendly and professional. The mussel soup is a must order dish. Even the tiramisu dessert is a top notch. I highly recommend the restaurant if you stay at Praiano.
Our dinner at Kasai in Praiano was far more than just a meal; it was a profound and evocative culinary experience that served as a highlight of our time in Italy. Perched beautifully overlooking the town, this restaurant is a place where local culinary traditions seamlessly meet the sophistication of modern dining. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Kasai is dedicated to a philosophy of authenticity and "truth" in every ingredient they serve. What truly sets Kasai apart is the narrative woven into their menu. They strive to give a voice to the people behind the scenes—the dedicated fishermen who spend their nights at sea and the local farmers who work the land to harvest truffles and potatoes. When you taste their dishes, you don't just experience high-quality flavors; you feel a deep connection to the hands that made the meal possible. Every bite feels like a tribute to the freshness and heritage of the Amalfi Coast. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, offering a setting that is both soulful and refined. The dishes are designed to evoke memories and rekindle emotions, telling a story of the region that stays with you long after the evening ends. If you are looking for a dining experience that balances world-class quality with a genuine respect for its roots, Kasai is an absolute must-visit. Between the stunning views, the attentive hospitality, and the sheer passion on the plate, it is a flawless 5-star destination.
Great place with excellent cuisine. The restaurant is not located on a main street – it’s slightly hidden, which actually adds to its charm, making it शांत and atmospheric. A big advantage is the outdoor seating with a beautiful view. We ordered the tartare and the artichoke – the latter really stood out, one of the best dishes I’ve had. For the main course, we had spaghetti with local squid and Vesuvio with onion cream – both pastas were very good, but the spaghetti was clearly better. Definitely a place worth visiting.
If you find yourself winding along the cliffs of Praiano wondering where to have your “wow” dinner, Kasai is it. From start to finish, this place hits every note — service, presentation, and food that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about pasta. We started with the scallop appetizer, which was so perfectly seared it could have earned a standing ovation. Then came two pasta dishes — both excellent, though mine was a bit over-eagerly al dente. (I’m all for a little bite, but this one was training for the Ironman.) Still, flavor was spot-on. The lamb main, though, stole the show — tender, rich, and cooked with the kind of precision that makes you want to stand up and applaud the kitchen. Add in the warm service, the cozy romantic setting, and the unbeatable Amalfi charm, and you’ve got one of those meals that justifies every euro. If you only have one dinner in Praiano, make it this one. 5/5 — would happily eat here every night until they roll me back down the hill.

Chez Black
An institution on Positano's main beach since 1949, Chez Black is the kind of place where you will see A-listers in linen shirts eating pizza alongside Italian families on holiday. The wood-fired pizzas are excellent, the seafood pasta is reliable, and the people-watching is world-class.

Cumpa Cosimo
At the opposite end of the spectrum from Rossellinis, Cumpa Cosimo has been feeding visitors and locals in Ravello since 1929. The portions are enormous, the pasta is handmade daily, and the atmosphere is cheerfully chaotic.

Don Alfonso 1890
Don Alfonso holds one Michelin star and has kept its place among the south's finest restaurants for decades. The Iaccarino family's restaurant sits above the coast in the quiet hilltop village of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, away from the tourist crush below.
