La Lucciola
For beachfront dining that genuinely delivers on the food, La Lucciola remains the Seminyak standard. Set right on Petitenget Beach with unobstructed sunset views, this Italian-leaning restaurant has operated since the mid-1990s and has outlasted countless trendier competitors. The reason is consistency: the kitchen executes Mediterranean-Italian cooking with reliable skill, the seafood is fresh, and the setting is genuinely beautiful.
Order the grilled catch of the day. It arrives whole, simply prepared with olive oil, lemon, and herbs, and it is exactly what you want as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean. The pastas are well made if unsurprising, and the tiramisu is one of the better versions on the island. Lunch is arguably the better meal here; dinner is pleasant, but the sunset is the main event, so time your reservation accordingly.
Prices are moderate for a beachfront table, around USD 40 to USD 60 per person with wine. There are no reservations for lunch, so arrive by 12:30 for a good table; dinner should be booked.

The atmosphere makes up for the food. We all started with cocktails that were all average - so we switched over to wine. The food was nice but not overly impressive. Zucchini flower just that little bit oily, my cappelletti was nice. I wish I’d just ordered the ice cream on its own (as it was delicious) and not the tasting plate…..The tiramisu was 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠, brûlée was almost curdled, cannoli was yum. We had a group of 13 and they made us sit on seperate tables. Even after we ate they wouldn’t let us pull our chairs together. Which is super odd. I’ve been here before and enjoyed it more the first time, but I don’t think I’ll go back again… plenty of other places to choose from….
Hidden gem on Petitenget beach , not very obvious to find it’s located right on the beachfront with no signs to indicate, and from the main street it’s down a gated alley . Nevertheless Great atmosphere, Great service went there for lunch with the mrs , had the Linguine vongole, fresh clams, sofrito, chilli, white wine and mrs had Paccheri pasta, smoked scarmoza, cherry tomato, basil, garlic, aged grana padano , it’s came with bread and olive for the table and some fresh chilli , Views of the beach is unmatched and was not too busy . got a seat upstairs. Food was High Quality and tastes amazing. Only thing i would say i discovered it late in my stay in seminyak would deffo recommend a try
La Lucciola was incredible. It's a cool beach front Italian Bistro with that social Bali vibe and excellent service. It's Bali, of course the service is to notch. The steak was amazing. The margaritas were surprisingly good as well. The fish was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special dinner in Bali. We were walk ins and the wait was only about 15 minutes.
There are restaurants you visit for the food, and then there are places like La Lucciola places where the setting wraps around you before the first plate even lands on the table. Perched right on the sand beside Petitenget Temple, La Lucciola has spent more than three decades mastering the art of effortless Bali dining. Open air timber pavilions breathe with the ocean itself. Sea breezes drift lazily through the restaurant, carrying salt, incense and sunscreen while immaculate green lawns roll toward the beach like something from an old Slim Aarons photograph. It feels expensive without trying to. Elegant without a trace of arrogance. The Indian Ocean growls softly a few metres away while staff move calmly through the room with that polished Balinese hospitality that never feels rehearsed. Long lunches dissolve into sunset cocktails here. Time becomes irrelevant. We started with calamari fritti and chilli aioli crisp, golden and light, finished with a squeeze of lime that snapped everything into focus. The house made fettuccine boscaiola was the standout: silky ribbons of pasta tangled with prosciutto cotto, mushrooms, cream, white wine and thyme. Rich without being heavy. The kind of dish you quietly think about days later. The pizza rustica topped with slow roast pork belly arrived perfectly cooked, the onion agrodolce leaning slightly sweet, but balanced enough to keep you coming back for another slice. La Lucciola isn’t chasing trends. It doesn’t need to. It already became a Bali institution years ago.
Went here for my birthday. We had drinks and watched the sunset, followed by dinner. Lovely atmosphere, staff are professional and friendly. Bit up market. We had carpaccio black Angus and creamy burrata to start with. Beef Gnocchi and porchetta along with potatoes. Wine was lovely too. Loved it. Very busy place if a table isn’t available you can wait and have a drink then they come and get you. Seemed well organised

Cuca
Cuca is Jimbaran's most exciting restaurant and one of the most original dining concepts on the island. Chef Kevin Cherkas, who trained under Ferran Adrià at elBulli, brings a distinctly creative sensibility to a menu built around small, tapas-style plates designed for sharing. The setting is deliberately casual, an open-air pavilion surrounded by gardens, which belies the technical sophistication of the cooking.

Hujan Locale
If Locavore NXT points to Bali's culinary future, Hujan Locale is a love letter to its past. Chef Will Meyrick, a familiar name on the Southeast Asian food circuit, built the restaurant around heritage Indonesian recipes, many drawn from home cooks and family collections across the archipelago. The name means "local rain," and the menu reads like a tour of Indonesia's regional cuisines.

Locavore NXT
Locavore NXT is the reincarnation of the restaurant most observers consider Bali's finest. After the original Locavore closed in central Ubud in October 2023, chefs Eelke Plasmeijer and Ray Adriansyah rebuilt the concept in a purpose-built space in Lodtunduh, closer to the restaurant's own farm. The larger kitchen supports an even more ambitious tasting menu, and the restaurant has held its place among Asia's most important dining destinations, ranked #44 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026.
