Amanpuri opened in 1988 on a palm-covered headland above Pansea Beach and was the first Aman resort in the world. It is still Phuket's most celebrated hotel, and the MICHELIN Guide awarded it three Keys, its highest rating, in 2026.

The resort has around 40 pavilions and a collection of private villas. The dining is excellent: Buabok serves Southern Thai food and is in the Michelin Guide, Akari is a Japanese restaurant in a building designed by Kengo Kuma, Arva serves Italian food, and Nura is a Mediterranean beach club.

Amanpuri shares Pansea Beach with <venue-mention to="/asia/phuket/venues/the-surin">
