Locavore NXT is the reincarnation of the restaurant most observers consider Bali's finest. After the original Locavore closed in central Ubud in October 2023, chefs Eelke Plasmeijer and Ray Adriansyah rebuilt the concept in a purpose-built space in Lodtunduh, closer to the restaurant's own farm. The larger kitchen supports an even more ambitious tasting menu, and the restaurant has held its place among Asia's most important dining destinations, ranked #44 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026.

The philosophy is radically local. Virtually everything on the menu is sourced within Indonesia, much of it grown on the restaurant's own plots or foraged from Balinese forests and coastlines. The tasting menu, roughly USD 120 to USD 150 before drinks, runs to a dozen or more courses, each a small provocation: fermented cassava as a fine-dining canapé, local sea urchin with smoked coconut, desserts built around tropical fruits you may never have encountered. The non-alcoholic pairing of house kombuchas, shrubs, and infusions is arguably the more interesting choice over the European-leaning wine list.

Book at least two weeks ahead, particularly during dry season. The dining room is intimate and walk-ins are essentially impossible.
